Less than three weeks after opening for The Fretliners in The Cellar, Kaye returned to The Original Pittsburgh Winery for a full two-and-a-half-hour solo acoustic set in the upstairs Tasting Room. On the eve of Dave Matthews Band’s show at Star Lake, fan favorites “The Stone” and “Crush” punctuated the set. An intimate group of listeners gave the evening the feel of a private concert, bringing the nuance of Kaye’s guitar work and the emotional weight of the songs into focus. An “All Along the Watchtower” intro leading into “The Den” became an early highlight, while the spontaneous debut of the calm, exploratory “Carousel” — developed in the moment — captured the freedom of the setting. Kaye’s dedication of “Alibi” to his grandmother added another personal note. The connection extended beyond the room when a couple who heard the music from down the street came inside hoping to hear more. With the Winery preparing to close its doors for good soon, the performance now carries added meaning for our team. It was an honor for Kaye to be part of the final chapter of a beloved Pittsburgh music venue.

Kaye’s first ticketed Pittsburgh venue show took place in The Cellar at The Original Pittsburgh Winery, an intimate and beautiful room that quickly proved to be a natural fit for his solo acoustic performance style. The set opened with an impromptu “Spare Change” jam leading fiercely into “Etchings of an Obelisk,” setting the tone for a focused, personal night of music. A cover of the California bluegrass classic “Wait a Minute” was added as a respectful nod to the headliners — The Fretliners — whose remarkable musicianship was matched by their warmth and generosity. The night’s strongest moments came from that combination: a close listening room, a personal acoustic set, and a shared love for the art of live music.

Voodoo Brewing Company in Fishers turned into a lively unofficial Creekend 2026 kickoff for Dave Matthews Band fans, with Kaye’s three-hour solo acoustic set running alongside a pair of networking events and drawing a crowd that pushed toward 200 at its peak. DMB covers and requests helped shape the night, including an improvised Bartender as well as teases of “Lie in Our Graves” and “Ants Marching” that led into a soaring “#41.” In addition, “Lean on Me,” a spontaneous Blackbird, and a closing “Stray” were clear highlights. Kaye looks forward to returning to this welcoming newer Fishers brewery.

This was a chill set with a beautiful view. Elizabeth City was a homecoming of sorts for Kaye, and those fond memories helped fuel an intimate two-hour, 45-minute performance of original music peppered with nods to some of his biggest influences. It was also an unofficial Night Zero gathering for Dave Matthews Band fans headed to the band’s upcoming shows in Raleigh and Virginia Beach. Blistering renditions of “Superstition” and “Grey Street,” along with an intimate performance of “Enough,” were clear highlights. An unexpected encore capped off a special Thursday evening by the water.
