Back Alley Brewing Company had parties running throughout the day and into what was reportedly one of its busiest nights. Tucked into the bar area—a spot the brewery hadn’t used for live music before—Kaye played an intimate set with plenty of Saturday-night energy. Familiar covers made their rounds, with “Superstition” again a crowd favorite, but the originals received just as warm a welcome. “Separate” and “Daylight” drew cheers, and the musicians among the listeners were especially generous with their compliments. One was even ready to join Kaye’s band. The unusual setup took a little working out, but the reception made it easy to settle in and follow his own musical instincts. As Kaye packed up, Lee put on Dave Matthews radio—a fitting soundtrack to the end of an evening that had felt increasingly like home. We left with an invitation to return and the feeling that this was a room where Kaye could play what mattered to him and find people ready to listen.

Weather moved this Fall show off 202 Hometown Tacos’ outdoor stage and into the bar, where the change of plans became part of the night’s charm. Pool tables, televisions, tacos, and a lively Bellevue crowd created a classic neighborhood-bar setting—an unlikely backdrop for Kaye’s three-hour, original-forward set, but one that proved surprisingly receptive. Longtime music fans in the room responded to the older references and gave Kaye unusual freedom to follow the set wherever it wanted to go.

After the high-energy “Livin’ in the Future,” one listener suggested that it could lead into “Grey Street,” prompting an improvised half-song rendition that clearly made his night. Later, after a two-song Paul McCartney run, another audience member called out, “You’re a Seattle guy—can you play Jimi Hendrix?” Kaye answered with a spontaneous couple of minutes of “Purple Haze,” performed for the first time.

The originals connected just as well. “Alibi,” “Match,” and the live debut of “Wagoneer” were among the evening’s highlights. By closing time, the move indoors felt less like a compromise than a fortunate turn, and the compliments—and invitation to return—made this eclectic Bellevue show a welcome surprise.

Years after first seeing a show at Crafthouse, Kaye finally took the main stage himself. The invitation came with just a day’s notice: a 45-minute opening set for Silver Springs, the Fleetwood Mac tribute. Less than a month after playing Sunshine Sessions outside, he returned to a Friday-night room of 300 plus attendees. A little improvisation on “The Chain” gave a nod to the evening’s headliner before leading into a powerful “Superstition.” Among the originals, “Daylight” and “The Den” drew especially warm responses. The set went quickly, but one of the moments that stayed with us came afterward. Two songs into their performance, Silver Springs called out, “How about that Kaye Baron?” The room answered with a roar. Finally playing that stage would have made the evening special on its own. The welcome from the audience, crew, and band made it a night to remember.

Mad Anthony’s Bier Stube offered an unusual stage companion for Kaye’s first dinner-and-bar show: a stuffed elk head mounted directly above him. The eccentric German-themed space in Ambridge made for an intimate Friday evening of original songs and familiar covers. Still shaking off a cold, Kaye leaned a little more on his guitar, though his voice held steady for a particularly strong “Daylight.” Later, before “Lean on Me,” he paused to reflect on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. He recalled how quickly perspectives shifted as people came together. His message was that the good in what America stands for can still offer common ground despite our divisions. “Lean on Me” became a crowd favorite. The warm reception made this an encouraging evening in a room with plenty of character.

Crafthouse’s Sunshine Sessions had the easy pace of a late-summer Sunday: beautiful weather, families moving between the games and food, and music carrying through the afternoon. Kaye settled into a three-hour solo acoustic set that moved freely between original material and the artists who helped shape it. The live debut of Bruce Springsteen’s “Livin’ in the Future” brought a burst of energy, while “The Stone” became one of the afternoon’s most demanding—and rewarding—performances, stretching both the guitar and vocal sides of the set. “Separate” landed especially well with the crowd and offered a quiet counterpoint later in the day. Setup was quick, the sound came together beautifully, and the audience was especially generous in both its support and its comments about Kaye’s musicianship. Sunshine Sessions was relaxed, welcoming, and an ideal way to close out August.

P-Dubs Sports Bar & Grille marked Kaye’s first sports-bar performance and a new setting for his solo acoustic show. With the rain holding off, the venue’s new patio took on the feel of a hidden local gem throughout the two-hour Friday-night set. Kaye opened with a first-time “Norwegian Wood” intro that flowed directly into the live debut of his brand-new original “Daylight.” The remainder of the set stayed original-heavy while reaching into different corners of his influences, particularly The Beatles and Nirvana. A punchy “Come As You Are” gave the evening an early jolt, while a tranquil “Separate” provided a quiet counterweight later on. The performance brought Kaye’s original-forward approach into a sports-bar setting without compromising the identity of the music, and the P-Dubs patio emerged as a place he looks forward to revisiting.

Less than three weeks after opening for The Fretliners in The Cellar, Kaye returned to The Original Pittsburgh Winery for a full two-and-a-half-hour solo acoustic set in the upstairs Tasting Room. On the eve of Dave Matthews Band’s show at Star Lake, fan favorites “The Stone” and “Crush” punctuated the set. An intimate group of listeners gave the evening the feel of a private concert, bringing the nuance of Kaye’s guitar work and the emotional weight of the songs into focus. A smooth rendition of “Lean on Me” was a highlight, while the spontaneous debut of the calm, exploratory “Carousel” — developed in the moment — captured the freedom of the setting. Kaye’s dedication of “Alibi” to his grandmother added another personal note. The connection extended beyond the room when a couple who heard the music from down the street came inside hoping to hear more. With the Winery preparing to close its doors for good soon, the performance now carries added meaning for our team. It was an honor for Kaye to be part of the final chapter of a beloved Pittsburgh music venue.

Kaye’s first ticketed Pittsburgh venue show took place in The Cellar at The Original Pittsburgh Winery, an intimate and beautiful room that quickly proved to be a natural fit for his solo acoustic performance style. The set opened with an impromptu “Spare Change” jam leading fiercely into “Etchings of an Obelisk,” setting the tone for a focused, personal night of music. A cover of the California bluegrass classic “Wait a Minute” was added as a respectful nod to the headliners — The Fretliners — whose remarkable musicianship was matched by their warmth and generosity. The night’s strongest moments came from that combination: a close listening room, a personal acoustic set, and a shared love for the art of live music.

Voodoo Brewing Company in Fishers turned into a lively unofficial Creekend 2026 kickoff for Dave Matthews Band fans, with Kaye’s three-hour solo acoustic set running alongside a pair of networking events and drawing a crowd that pushed toward 200 at its peak. DMB covers and requests helped shape the night, including an improvised Bartender as well as teases of “Lie in Our Graves” and “Ants Marching” that led into a soaring “#41.” In addition, “Lean on Me,” a spontaneous Blackbird, and a closing “Stray” were clear highlights. Kaye looks forward to returning to this welcoming newer Fishers brewery.

This was a chill set with a beautiful view. Elizabeth City was a homecoming of sorts for Kaye, and those fond memories helped fuel an intimate two-hour, 45-minute performance of original music peppered with nods to some of his biggest influences. It was also an unofficial Night Zero gathering for Dave Matthews Band fans headed to the band’s upcoming shows in Raleigh and Virginia Beach. Blistering renditions of “Superstition” and “Grey Street,” along with an intimate performance of “Enough,” were clear highlights. An unexpected encore capped off a special Thursday evening by the water.
